Brief History
HL Chartered Professional Accountants came to be when two bright professionals decided to bring their respective talents and passion for helping their clients. Helen Loukatos and Helen Lakkotrypis first met in 2005 while working for a mid-sized public accounting firm located just North of Toronto, Canada.
Both women have worked with an extensive array of clients in a variety of industries. Together they have in excess of 45 years of experience and offer excellent client service at reasonable rates. They are committed to providing sound business advice to their clients, on a timely basis, as well as maintaining current knowledge in all areas of the ever-changing world of business, finance, taxation, and the accounting profession.

Helen Loukatos
A 19-year tax season and public accounting veteran, Helen focuses on servicing companies and individuals from a variety of industries, including investment holding companies and estates, manufacturing and retail, hospitality, and other professionals (i.e. lawyers, accountants, doctors, etc.). She is experienced in the preparation of all Canadian tax filings and Accounting/Financial Reporting Engagements, tax minimization strategies, business and operations advisory, succession planning, investments, and business sales and acquisitions. Helen assists with calculations in support of marital property claims, marriage breakdown equalization calculations, and tax matters relating to separated spouses and their children.

Helen Lakkotrypis
Helen is an ambitious business professional with over 25 years of experience in taxation, accounting and finance. From being a senior tax practitioner in a large, multinational CPA firm for over 18 years, to operating her own public accounting practice for the last 7 years, Helen is proficient in matters relating to income taxation, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, risk management, business development, and strategic leadership. Helen has consulted to CPA Canada and CPA Ontario regarding income tax practice standards and guidelines, risk management and tax best practices. She provided input, reviewed, edited, and authored sections of "The Tax Risk Management Guide" and developed a digital product for CPA Canada for use by practitioners and provincial bodies to assess tax practice risks and identify corrective measures.
